Our client operates within the construction sector and has a vacancy for a Project Office Team Leader to lead a team of Project Office Technicians and produce high quality and cost effective design proposals for customers.

Key Tasks

  • To lead and/or contribute to customer meetings (internal or external) to providing solutions, explanations and recommendations to issues presented.

  • Manage customers questions/enquiries relating to, but not specific to, company products, standards and regulations commonly known as 'building physics’.

  • Answer email and verbal technical queries concerning standard system applications from fabricators and employees.

  • To produce drawings and bespoke designs to meet customer requirements.

  • Review customers’ general arrangement drawings with respect to standard systems principles and recommendations.

  • Assess applications for oversize windows and doors which are outside of standard recommendations for approval or rejection.

  • Production of special extrusion and/or fittings detailed to meet the demands of specified projects.

  • Undertake preliminary static calculations.

  • Produce thermal calculations.

  • Ensure all tasks of the Project Office are carried out in a timely and effective manner meeting all internal KPI targets.

  • Monitor departmental KPIs, taking action to achieve, maintain and improve target levels.

  • In conjunction with the Technical Manager provide day to day supervision of the departments activities and Project Office Technicians.

  • Identify and review training needs that support personal growth in line with the business needs liaising with L&D/HR on any requirements.

  • Manage Project Office diary, allocating and/or escalating tasks to technicians as appropriate.

  • Identify ways in which to improve methods of working and support continuous improvement initiatives within the department and with other departments.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory position.

  • Engineering qualification and/or degree level.

  • Highly proficient in CAD; specifically AutoCAD.

  • Practical knowledge and experience of Revit and BIM.

  • A clear understanding of the principles relating to the workings of; window, door and curtain-walling systems.
