South, Central & West CSU (SCW) is one of the largest Commissioning Support Units in the country, and to support their clients they must be innovative and flexible, open to following their customer’s vision and looking at things in a new way. They collaborate with customers and partners across health and social care systems to manage, analyse, and improve performance and enable their customers to achieve the best possible outcomes for their service users.

Major clients of SCW include a number of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). CCGs hold contracts with a wide range of different organisations who provide care to the local population, including NHS England, local authorities, foundation trusts, social enterprises, and other health related organisations.. You will therefore be working with a diverse range of stakeholders, continually adapting your approach and learning about how to provide the best service to distinct customers.

Your next role will be working in a fast paced, staff management position where you will be brought into keep the team productivity levels high by keeping them motivated and focused on SCW’s objectives. You will be responsible for the line management of the tactical function of the Non Clinical Procurement team and ensure they are provided with the tools and training required to carry out their duties to the best of their abilities. You will be responsible for the delivery of cost effective procurement solutions via the analysis of all procurement spend and management of a team. You will measure procurement and financial performance of this spend to ensure that savings are achieved by the utilisation of national, regional or local contracts. You will also manage and develop Purchase-to-Pay policies and procedures to enhance tactical procurement processes for both internal and external customers, and provide specialist support to the Senior Purchasing Manager by managing a range of procurement activities and projects.

You will need to ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions including SCWs Key Performance
Indicators.

Direct reports – 2 Administrators and 6 Buyers

What you'll need to succeed
This is fantastic opportunity for you to manage a Procurement team and be given a clear development plan to move into a strategic position within the business. You will have ambition and want to develop your career by being open to working towards CIPS and Prince 2 qualification.

SCW are looking for a confident, analytical leader to run the Procurement Purchase-to-Pay team. You will be able to think quickly on your feet and come from a customer facing background where you have proven success of satisfied stakeholders, customers and high productivity. Public sector experience is not essential, SCW are interested in seeing candidates with strong line management experience and who have a passion for seeing others succeed. You will be able to get the best out of your team and be a good motivator to drive success.

Excellent communication skills are essential and you will have good report writing skills, be able to nurture key relationships and maintain networks.
