Major clients of SCW include a number of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). CCGs hold contracts with a wide range of different organisations who provide care to the local population, including NHS England, local authorities, foundation trusts, social enterprises, and other health related organisations.. You will therefore be working with a diverse range of stakeholders, continually adapting your approach and learning about how to provide the best service to distinct customers.
Your new role
Your new role is working in a fast paced, lively and vibrant work place and you will be brought into lead strategic indirect procurement projects for SCW, including consultancy services and IT equipment/services . This will be anything from 10 to 15 projects at one time, both active but mainly reactive to the needs of senior stakeholders both within SCW and its clients. This is a highly influential position supporting the Senior Procurement Manager of SCW’s Non-Clinical team to ensure that their work streams are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting the successful delivery of projects to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. With no two projects being the same you will confidently go through the “cradle to grave” process and be commercially vigilant for all cost saving opportunities.
The successful candidate will provide procurement advice, assistance and guidance to customers to create specifications that will deliver high quality, innovative and value for money services through procurement processes and timescales that comply with all guidance. This position will allow you to be responsible for developing quality relationships with all customers based on high levels of professional expertise and value for money. What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will have clear career progression on your CV and have ambition to want to continue being a high achiever and develop your skillset. SCW are looking for a candidate who has excellent procurement project management skills, ability to work well under pressure and enjoy problem solving.
You will have daily interaction with clients and customers so you will need to be a confident individual and
possess excellent time management skills, be able to prioritise your projects effectively, and always be looking to provide value for money. This will include being able to raise and escalate issues and risks as and when they arise to senior internal and external stakeholders and in some cases board members.
A proven background co-ordinating complex indirect projects is essential and being able to take them from start to finish through the 7-stage cycle. It will be beneficial if you have worked with IT, Consultancy and professional services as these are the main bulk of projects. You will hold a degree or have equivalent relevant experience and hold, or be working towards, MCIPS.
In person you will be professional, credible and perceptive as you will need to gain the trust of others and be able to deal with stakeholders. You will have the confidence to ask questions and challenge others with the ability to solve problems in a clear and concise manor.
