As a SENCO at this school you should possess the experience, and personal dedication that will allow you to continue the fantastic work of the previous SENCO, whilst you work alongside the inspirational Headteacher. You will be given all the training and support you need to develop your pedagogical talent and knowledge, allowing you to become the best SENCO you can be. With this post comes great responsibility for whole school SEN. As per the school's charter and SEN code of practice you should lead on inclusive practice, remembering to cater for any SEN or EAL issues within the school.
To be considered you must be an experienced SENCO, with a sound knowledge of working with Special Educational Needs and 'English as an Additional Language' pupils and ideally experience working in an inner city school, although this is not essential. The school wants to recruit a SENCO who has the desire and ability to keep in line and to contribute to the schools inclusion policy - no child is left behind in the amazing place of learning and as a SENCO in the school you will have full autonomy and charge of Teaching Assistants and SEN. The school wants a SENCO who is dynamic, empathetic and above all wants the best for the students at this school, whilst also fitting in to the current ethos of the school and becoming part of the inspirational leadership team.
This school is a highly regarded primary found in South London and is accessible via rail and tube. The school acts a galvanising force within the community, providing a hub of learning and activity which simultaneously creates and benefits from a passionate civic pride. The school was recently commended on its Good Ofsted rating, which also had outstanding elements for behaviour and leadership. It progresses and develops a students body that consists of high levels of EAL and SEN and is often oversubscribed due to popularity. The school is consistent in motivating low ability pupils to achieving above and beyond expectations which has led to recognition and acclamation from national award bodies.
