Are you an experienced Automation Test Team Lead looking for a new challenge? Why not join us in our quest to empower the world of education? You will join our Edge Product team where we are in the early stages of developing an innovative, cloud-based solution which will form the next generation of Tribal's market leading student management systems. This role is based in our Norwich or Sheffield offices, although we will consider applications from candidates based in other locations where we have offices such as Hessle and Lancaster. The role We are looking for a motivated and diligent professional to join the team. You will be responsible for leading operational management and delivery of specified automated testing activities within software development to ensure that quality and efficiency in the testing lifecycle is continually improved and Tribal software continues to be world-class. You will contribute to specified automated software testing activities along with the production and implementation of Test Strategies covering functional and non-functional testing, both in manual and automated contexts. You will also be the point person and owner for testing across the whole cloud platform team. This primarily covers UI automation as well as API Integration Automation, as well as ensuring regression testing is completed in all necessary environments up to and including Staging. You will ensure test analysis and estimation is accurate to identify gaps and ensure adequate security and penetration testing has been carried out on releases, including arranging and coordinating any agreed external penetration tests. You will manage risk, producing reports for the management team and recognising when to escalate issues. You will be responsible for full/patch release management activities to include, Test Plans, Defect and Delivery tracking, Alpha/Beta testing and the collation of test artefacts for release. Previous experience in a senior role in an automated testing environment is essential. You will have strong people management and excellent organisation skills including delegation. Your exceptional communication, analytical and problem-solving skills will come into play every day as will your ability to prioritise and work to deadlines. You will be experienced in making decisions and exercising sound judgement. You will have experience of creating and executing automated test processes and documenting test results in a commercial software testing environment and you will bring the highest levels of accuracy as well as the ability to understand software specifications. You will have strong SQL skills and the ability to pull data from databases, this will go hand in hand with your understanding of SCRUM development methodology and demonstrable experience in interpreting specifications.
