Job Title: Retail Manager
Location: Silsoe, Bedfordshire
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 per annum dependant on experience
Role: Permanent

- You will be professional and commercially astute with a passion for customer service, people management and a strong desire to succeed
- Customer service you believe in, not because you have to, every customer must walk out feeling they have had a personal shopping experience
- Commercial awareness is a must, you must also be able to read and understand the reports and figures as well as knowing what makes a store look outstanding and able to identify opportunities to grow store performance
- Understanding your customers’ needs should come naturally to you
- Customer focus when making all decisions, ensuring the customer is at the heart of all operations in store
- You will have strong leadership skills, ability to train and coach to ensure the highest standards of merchandising, presentation and customer service
- Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate and gain respect from your team

- Responsible for setting, monitoring and achieving sales and performance targets at the retail outlets under your management in conjunction with site management colleagues
- Manage, develop and lead Stewards and volunteers in achieving retail performance, through target setting, training and coaching in active selling at the retail outlets under your management
- To work with the wider property team and other colleagues in the territory to achieve and exceed all commercial targets and expected performance, at the retail outlets under your management whilst also delivering high standards of customer service
- To be the key point of contact for retail at the retail outlets under your management with responsibility for devising and implementing retail business plans and identifying opportunities for growth
- Plan and deliver retail trading at both internal and external events, to achieve income and profit targets
- Lead on stock take at your sites to accepted standards, including ensuring sufficient staffing levels and training where required
- Responsible for effective stock management, balancing high levels of availability with write off and stock turn targets
- To ensure all health and safety policies, compliance and procedures pertaining to retail trading are adhered to
- To support other sites and teams in the territory with retail activity including assistance with merchandising, stock (ordering and deliveries), training and events
