Health, Safety & Facilities Manager NEBOSH 4-6 month contract in Bury St Edmunds offering an attractive salary up to £40,000.

Reporting to the Director of Resources you will provide comprehensive health, safety and facilities advisory and support the service with regards to all strategic and operational issues.

- To develop and implement creative and innovative strategies
- Managing the office and site services
- Advise on all Health and Safety matters in order to comply with statutory requirements
- To provide advice and guidance on complex Health and Safety matters
- To maintain statistical information held on IT databases in relation to health, safety and welfare such as accident / incident data, information held on dangerous occurrences and near misses
- Promote health and safety culture and assist managers in determining safe working practices
- To conduct health and safety inspections, audits and reports
- To investigate work- related accidents, incidents and complaints
- To coordinate an action plan or service plan for improving Health, Safety and Welfare standards
- Identify training needs by undertaking a training needs analysis and develop an appropriate health and safety training programme, delivering training where required
- Work with external enforcement and other agencies such as the Health and Safety Executive, Fire and Police Authorities, Environmental Health and the Environment Agency
- Risk assessment strategies, conduct assessments and assist and advise others
- Conduct and monitor DSE and Pregnancy risk assessments
- To coordinate the maintenance of an effective and safe work environment at all times
- Responsibility for ensuring the most suitable working environment for employees and their activities
- Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise
- Using best business practices to improve efficiency, by reducing operating costs whilst not adversely affecting productivity or having an adverse affect on the environment
- Coordinate building and grounds/site maintenance, cleaning, caretaking, climate control, security, fire protection, catering and vending, space management and similar items
- The preparation and delivery of maintenance and facilities programmes
- Establishing and coordinating effective and appropriate contractual arrangements regarding site maintenance, cleaning, caretaking, climate control, security, fire protection, catering and vending, space management and similar
- Project management, supervising and co-ordinating work of contractors
- Investigating availability and suitability of options for new purchases
- Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies

The ideal candidate for this role will be NEBOSH qualified and have experience managing a team. Please not this is a 4 to 6 month contract.
