Night Residential Support Worker - Adults
Due to our on-going success and our plans for continuous development, we are recruiting for waking-night Support Workers to join our new adult provision Tigh Calman in Thorney, opening in Summer 2017.
This role offers a 2 week rolling rota operational between 8.30pm – 8.00am.
About The Job:
Reporting to the Senior support worker, the waking-night Support Worker is responsible for providing guidance, support and engagement to our residents throughout the night, promoting independence and choice where possible and appropriate.
Work in partnership with our Senior Team to safeguard our residents at all times.
Lead by example and contribute to the personal development of our residents, promoting and supporting healthy lifestyle choices alongside varied and appropriate activities.
Support our residents with all aspects of personal care.
Carry out routine checks on our residents throughout the night.
Work alongside your team to maintain a safe, clean and homely environment for our residents to include a variety of domestic and laundry duties.
Maintain accurate, clear and concise record keeping.
Proactively contribute to care planning and take ownership for keeping your own knowledge up to date by regularly reviewing all relevant documentation and training materials.
Attend and contribute positively to regular staff meetings and hand-over meetings, ensuring all relevant information is shared appropriately and in a timely manner.
Participate in regular supervisions to aid personal development and ensure good practice in all areas.
Take ownership for personal development, attending all relevant training to include Care Certificate, Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care & Timian
Experience, skills and qualifications:
Passion for care with particular emphasis on adult services
Ideal applicants will have demonstrable experience providing care and support to individuals with severe learning difficulties, challenging behaviour and autistic spectrum disorder.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to include computer literacy
Ideally hold a completed Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care or be prepared to work towards and complete this qualification within an outlined timeframe.
The successful applicant will be offered an annual salary of £18,629.00.
