Our client, a global automotive manufacturer with an iconic brand, has made available a contract post until March 2018 for a Body Engineering Test Project Engineer to be based at their Gaydon location, offering up to £21.25 per hour (umbrella or limited company contractor basis).

Key Responsibilities of the Body Engineering Test Project Engineer

  • Collate all customer requirements, derive efficiencies, compile BOMs for test properties, and derive requirements for complex commodities
  • Ensure requirements meet the budget, load & validate the procurement system, liaise with key suppliers to ensure requirements are met to plan
  • Deliver; liaise with Pilot Plant(s) to build test properties, deliver to Test houses to plan, resolve build and test issues
  • Project manage test properties to maximise use of the assets up to key programme gateways

Qualifications and Experience required for the Body Engineering Test Project Engineer

  • The ability to plan, communicate and resolve issues in a cross functional Team
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated to deliver with minimum supervision
  • Computer literate, with strong experience with Microsoft Office - Primarily Excel, but also PowerPoint & Word
  • Flexibility - be willing to work overtime and inter-site travel, periods of several months based at the manufacturing pilot plant and therefore it is expected that candidates will hold a valid UK Drivers licence

Key Competencies of the Body Engineering Test Project Engineer

  • Experience of program or project management, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery
  • An understanding of vehicle Bills of Material
  • An understanding of vehicle physical testing requirements particularly the Body elements (including Body in white, interior / exterior trim, body mechanisms and safety components)
