An exciting Oxford based Test Engineer opportunity has opened up with one of the UKs leading Space technology companies. The Test Engineer will support battery development, testing and qualification activities. The successful candidate will support all aspects of battery environmental and electrical testing, evaluation and qualification of new technologies to enable the business to remain a technology leader in the Space industry

The position of Test Engineer will be strongly focussed on running and organising electrical and environmental tests which support the development activities of the business. In addition, it will also include detailed review, analysis and evaluation of results obtained

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will have good 'hands on' practical skills and be confident working with specialist engineers and scientists. In addition you will be self-motivated and an enthusiastic team-player who is diligent and shows a high level of attention to detail.

Key Role Aspects:

  • Hands on battery testing including:
    • Electrical battery testing using commercial test systems
    • Environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum and cycling)
    • Cell DPA (Destructive Parts Analysis) and physical testing
  • Organisation of testing to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Data review and preliminary analysis to validate outputs
  • Trouble-shooting and problem solving through standard electrical diagnostic techniques
  • Preparing detailed written plans and procedures
  • Analysis of test results using Excel

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on skills for electrical and physical testing including familiarity with standard electrical measurement and diagnostic techniques
  • Degree level qualification in Electrical/Mechanical discipline or experience in a related role of electrical testing

Salary - 25000 - 23,000
