Project Manager

Tier 1 Main Contractor

South West London

Freelance: £400 - £450 per day

Permanent: £80,000 - £90,000 + Package

One of the world’s leading Main Contractors is currently searching for a Project Manager to join one of their flagship projects in the heart of London. This project is part of a larger development scheme which will see an overall £8 Billion pumped into the local area. This project itself has an overall value of nearly £2 Billion.

Due to the current phase of the project this Project Manager must have Structural Frame biased construction experience as the current section of works is seeing the construction of a £400 Million Reinforced Concrete and Steel Frame. This project has an overall duration of 3 years and you would be joining during a critical step in the build. Candidates who have experience working on projects from Frame stages to internals and final handover.

Role:

  • Managing site activities on a day-to-day basis, assisting with problems which arise and liaising with sub-contractors to correct the problem.

  • Ensure programmes are adhered to, liaising with planning staff to provide the client with accurate timeframes for section completion.

  • Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and Construction Director, deliver daily and weekly reports when required.

  • Manage a large team of Engineers, Construction Managers and other technical staff throughout the phase.

Required:

  • Candidates must have a background in Reinforced Concrete Frame and Structural Steel Frame Construction.

  • You also must have been in a project management position for 4+ years as a Project Manager or higher.

  • Candidate also must have experience working on projects up to a value of £50 Million.

  • Candidates coming from an engineering background will be favourable due to the complexity of the technical elements of the build.

  • Essential certificates required include SMSTS and CSCS and First Aid.

  • Candidates from industries other than construction will not be considered.

This position will provide the successful candidate with long term employment whether they want to be in a freelance or permanent basis.
