Job Description
Based at 353 Clepington Road, you will work part time, 30 hours per week, temporary for 6 months.
You will have a SVQ2 or be willing to undertake SVQ2 assessment to achieve this award.
You will assist in providing a 24-hour response service for vulnerable older people, people with physical disabilities, people with mental illness or people with learning disabilities, whose independence in the community is supported by an alarm call system. To provide a locally based mobile service to Sheltered Housing tenants when full-time Wardens are off duty.
The Individual
You will have past or present caring experience to a high standard, either in life or work. You must have good written and oral communications skills and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own, using your own initiative. You will have assessment skills and be able to understand and meet the needs of people living in the community. Sensitivity and understanding in dealing with vulnerable people are also essential. You will work shifts, including evenings, weekends and nights. You will be non-judgemental with a caring, pleasant and professional approach. A dependable and reliable attitude to work, the ability to work under pressure, undertake further study/training and a full, current driving licence are also required. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
