My client, who are amongst the top 10 accountancy practices in the UK, are looking for a Public Sector Audit Senior to join their busy Leeds office.

Joining their Public Sector Audit and Advisory team, you will assist managers to deliver external and some internal audits to the highest possible standard. You will help to provide increased capacity for the team to continue winning and delivering new business.

As part of the role, you will:

• Take personal responsibility for delivering excellence in client service and internal projects
• Assist the Audit Manager in planning, organising, controlling and reviewing audit assignments to ensure that the firm's and client's budgets are met
• Act as a key contact for clients and build strong working relationships
• Manage the team on site during audit visits 
• Draft reports and other client communications
• Effectively delegate work and take ownership of quality control
• Work together with respect for your colleagues to achieve team goals, whilst demonstrating high levels of integrity and professionalism
• Pro-actively support the development of other team members, including graduate trainees
• Generate and convert business opportunities from existing and/ or new clients

Person specification:

• Broad practical experience of accounting and/or audit
• High level of professional knowledge and expertise, including current technical developments 
• An understanding of the public sector and an awareness of the key issues faced by our clients
• Educated to degree level
• CCAB qualified (or equivalent)

Salary negotiable depending on experience.
