Job Title: Functional Skills Trainer - Polish Speaker

Responsible To: Operations Director

Department Skills

Purpose: To support the effective delivery of Functional Skills across the Skills Division to a minimum Grade 2 delivery and to exceed the minimum benchmark achievement rates.

Key Responsibilities:

• High quality delivery of Functional Skills content to Babington specifications

• Invigilation of Functional Skills exams as required

• Completion of high quality Speaking, Listening and Communication assessments

• To ensure that all content related communications from learners are answered within the defined Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and details are recorded accurately

• To maintain a minimum Ofsted grade 2 in all observations in line with the observation policy

• To provide feedback to and work closely with the development team to ensure high levels of service excellence

• To deliver, stand alone classroom delivery on site to a cohort of learners from entry level 1 upwards.

• To achieve and maintain the appropriate levels of knowledge for the subject areas covered

• To achieve and maintain external qualifications and certifications, as laid out on your training plan, to enable quality training delivery and support, where appropriate

• To undertake continued personal and professional development (CPPD) as appropriate to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date and reflect industry standards

• To act as mentor to other members of the team, ensuring that, where possible, knowledge transfer takes place enabling the team to answer and support more queries

• Suggest new methods, processes and products to improve the services that we provide our learners

• Significant travel as required to meet the support needs of learners

Skills and Experience

•Experienced in the delivery of Mathematics and English Functional Skill delivery to learners who English is not their first language.
•QTLS – desirable
•SET membership - desirable
•Level 2 in Mathematics and English. Eg GCSE or Functional Skills
•Level 2 ICT qualification. Eg GCSE or Functional Skills - desirable
•Proven ability to work to set deadlines
•Ability to demonstrate sector experience
•Extensive previous experience of working remotely
•Up to date continuous professional development
•Knowledge of Apprenticeship programmes and sector requirements

Some work is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognised course of duty. The post holder must meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act at all times.

Babington has as an Safeguarding Policy which encompasses the recent legislative changes to include PREVENT ( Anti-terrorism and Anti radicalisation strategy) and it is the responsibility of all staff to comply with this. The key responsibilities for staff under this Policy are set out in the Babington Way. You will be required to complete mandatory training subject to employment.
