Your new company
This organisation is a leading engineering firm based in Poole, right in the centre of the South Coast. Due to sustained growth they are now in a position to add a Software Engineering Team Lead & Senior Software Engineer to support their Embedded systems working with C#.

The Senior Engineer will work hands on, the team lead will be a hybrid role, split between people management and hands-on development.

Your new role

Software Team Lead -
This is a multi-faceted position crucial to the company delivering technical projects and as such the role covers the whole project lifecycle. You'll provide technical leadership by mentoring and coaching developers and will expand the current software and work on new developments.

Depending on the number of projects the role could be 100% management with development input coming from a design and build perspective more than actually cutting code. However if it's a single project, you will be a member of an agile team and should be prepared to take on coding and test if required to do so.

Senior Software Engineer
You'll be working in a highly skilled team of engineers to keep the company's products ahead of industry standards. You'll have responsibility for writing technical documentation, liaising with customers and of course producing clean, well-structured code for both embedded products and .Net desktop applications.

The company sits in the medium size bracket where you retain autonomy and control of projects and can influence the direction of the department and the systems used internally, without corporate red tape.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have Embedded systems exposure (C/C++) combined with strong C# .Net programming. Just C# programming on PCs such as web and database applications will not be sufficient.

You should be comfortable with programming for real time systems, be knowledgeable in OO design / design patterns and have written documentation to meet specs. You'll be an expert operating in a Visual Studio environment.

You must have taken projects from concept/design to build and release on budget and within prescribed timescales. Communication skills and the ability to manage upwards and downwards are essential.

What you'll get in return
These positions come with a generous benefits package including life insurance, pension contributions and free parking on site. The company operate a flexible working pattern and offer 25 days holiday as standard. They have excellent retention levels and pride themselves on being a welcoming, enjoyable place to work.
