Senior Residential Support Worker
Due to our on-going success and to fulfil our plans for continuous development of the organisation, we are recruiting for Senior Residential Support Workers to join our new adult provision Tigh Calman in Thorney, opening in Summer 2017.
This role is working 43.5 hours per week, working 13 hour shifts, from 8am-9pm on a 4 week rolling rota.
About The Job:
Reporting to the Registered Manager, the Senior Residential Support Worker is responsible for providing person centred care, enabling residents to live as independently as possible within their home and the wider community. This role is also responsible for supporting our established staff team to carry out their wide range of duties appropriately and effectively, promoting choice and individuality for our residents at all times.
Lead by example, behave and communicate appropriately at all times.
Positively contribute to the personal development of our residents with both practical and emotional support.
Design, implement, deliver and contribute in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events within the home and wider community. This will involve regular outings and trips and on occasion, extended visits and holidays.
Using knowledge and experience, contribute positively to care planning and participate supportively in reviews as requested, demonstrating a sound knowledge regarding nutrition and hygiene.
Maintain accurate, clear and concise record keeping.
Take ownership for key-worker duties and where appropriate look to develop and strengthen links with families, friends and relevant significant others.
Work in partnership with the Manager to ensure streamlined service delivery and consistent communication across the homes.
Proactively participate in supporting the staff team to include carrying out supervisions as requested.
Attend and contribute positively to regular staff meetings and hand-over meetings, ensuring all relevant information is disseminated appropriately and in a timely manner.
Contribute positively to the training and development of the staff team to include own personal development / highlighting any training needs.
Operate with flexibility, participating in a shift rota (which may include sleep-ins) as requested by Management.
Essential Experience Skills & Qualifications:
·Hold completed Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care
·Experience of providing care and support to young adults, ideally young adults with disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour
·Competent written and oral communication skills to include computer literacy
The successful applicant will be offered a remuneration package that will consist of a basic salary of; £22,301.00 per annum increasing to £25,091.00 per annum on successful completion of probationary period.
