An innovative International firm is seeking a candidate like you to fulfil the role of Costing & Procurement Assistant at their Blackburn site. Key duties include:

  • Costing of complex projects

  • Sourcing and ordering products from outside of the UK, mainly from other internal production sites, but also from external suppliers.

  • The organisation behind all costings for projects - to include floor plan development, detailed costings for products and linking in logistical costs

  • Producing costing summaries to enable Finance to finalise cost, including margins

  • To monitor deliveries from other sites and UK suppliers

  • Communicating with key stakeholders across the business

Key experience & skills sought:

  • Experience in a costing capacity

  • Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties

  • A Level education highly desirable, ideally in Mathematics or an analytical/technical discipline

  • Good numerical and analytical skills, applying a logical approach

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and remain calm and effective under pressure

  • Excellent decision making and negotiation skills

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills

  • Strong communication skills at all levels

  • Intermediate or Advanced Excel skills

  • Good knowledge of Sage Accounts package and Illustrator is highly beneficial
