Interaction Recruitment are working with a large organisation in Birmingham who specialise in providing warehousing and logistics solutions for the movement of customs and non-customs automotive goods from outside the UK.

We are looking to find a Project & Quality Engineer based out of Birmingham.

Job Description

As the Project & Quality Engineer you will join a small Sales and Project team based in the UK whose client is an Asia based automotive supplier, supplying Chassis components to their UK OEM customers. The job involves handing all aspects of product quality and customer liaison.

Duties and responsibilities

? Leading continuous improvement, implementing containment actions plans and taking initiatives to reduce customer complaints;

? Carry out component testing for calibration activities following manufacture specifications;

? Have a thorough understanding of the product and processes to help explain to customer

? Assist our client to complete Quality reports such as 8D or other Quality forms or reports;

? Report all findings via thorough communication and visual aid to our client and update clients or OEM’s online portal or equivalent system;

? Manage and provide training for third party Quality rework company on / off site if required;

? Attend OEM’s local/regional assembly centre, warranty centre or other sites to carry out root cause analysis of the product and report findings as requested;

? Be the Quality contact for OEM customers and our client, and be able to take calls on company provided mobile phone in reasonable hours outside of work;

? Liaison between major client and their customers for outstanding information.

? Managing the companies’ relationship with its major client and OEM, and acquire a thorough understanding of their needs and requirements;

? Ensure major client and OEM’s receive any requested products and services in a timely fashion;

? Support Senior Commodity Managers with analytical information and / or other related tasks to ensure the issue on hand is successfully closed;

Qualifications

Qualifications of degree or diploma in Engineering subject desirable

Experience in Automotive Manufacturing

Experience in previous Quality jobs

Fully conversant in Microsoft Office package

Knowledge of Quality Engineering processes and regulatory requirements

Excellent Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes or services

Ability to demonstrate analytical skills to proactively identify and solve problems

To have effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion

Working conditions

Some form of physical work would be required for testing and movability of the product.

Mainly office based, however regional travelling is required (Travelling expenses covered by the company).

Requirements

Full UK Driving License and use of own car

Rarely international travel required and reasonably requested for the purpose of managing the account
