The Role:-

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Construction Development Executive based in London for our client, one of the largest and most influential independent insurance brokers in England.

Offering a complete specialist insurance service to companies in the construction sector and associated industries, this role reports into the Managing Director of Construction and is responsible for the proactive drive of significant business growth through self-generation by concentrating on New Business development.

The primary function of the role will be to secure business with new UK Construction clients in the mid-market/corporate arena (premiums £10k to £2M), before passing them on to the servicing team to manage going forwards. There is an existing prospect database which can be utilised but the successful candidate will be expected to generate their own leads through various means including networking and cold-calling etc.

Responsibilities will include:-
-Develop innovative sales strategies and plans designed to leverage Construction interest and business;
-In conjunction with the Managing Director, prepare and agree sales forecasts, targets, plans and budgets for your respective sales area, providing work in progress updates on a monthly basis or upon request;
-To be responsible for achievement of sales forecasts, plans, targets, programmes and budgets in your respective sales area acting always within FCA Rules;
-Draw on existing network and other methods to self-generate leads;
-Actively participate as required in cross selling through all Company divisions;
-Maintain effective working relationships with Account Executives and service teams to assist subsequent servicing;
-Open dialogue with potential new clients and discuss Company's products with knowledge and credibility;
-Provide price information in a clear, consistent and accurate fashion in line with compliance policy;
-Plan and implement appointments to ensure effective use of time and provide activity reports on a monthly basis;
-Prepare and deliver presentations as appropriate to client audiences at all levels.

Role Requirements:-

-Candidates must have a proven track record within the Corporate Commercial insurance field, strong development ability and a solid background as an experienced developer;
-The role will be developing new and existing business externally, meeting clients, generating business and ensuring retention is high;
-As this is a client facing role, you will have previously presented to clients and be adept at influencing individuals;
-Candidates will ideally come from a broker, client facing background;
-Involvement in previous roles and/or projects that would be beneficial and relevant to this role. Including Client relationship management techniques;
-The General Insurance market, in respect of commercial insurance;
-Report-writing and presentation techniques;
-CII qualifications - Preferred;
-GSCE (or equivalent) at Grade C or above (including Maths and English).
