Mobile Cardiac Nurse

Location: Mobile Nurse (Various Locations)

Salary: £32,000-£34,000

Hours: Full Time (37.5 hrs)

Contract Type: Permanent

This is a mobile role so there will be some travel involved but you will be placed as nearest to your home postcode in Devon as possible.

What you'll be doing:

  • As a Mobile Cardiac Nurse, you will ensure all necessary consumables and pharmacy is accurately/ safely prepared prior to commencement of each clinical procedure
  • You will clarify identification of the patient prior to any procedures
  • As Senior Cardiac Nurse, you will appropriately and safely prepare the patient for their procedure
  • As Senior Cardiac Nurse, you will assist the clinician during the clinical procedure and have a working knowledge of different catheters
  • You will ensure safe puncture site management post procedure
  • As Senior Cardiac Nurse, you will undertake and record accurate documentation in the patient care plan
  • You will give an accurate and safe handover to the receiving nurse
  • As Senior Cardiac Nurse / RGN you will be fully conversant with the content of the resuscitation trolley and the function of the defibrillator
  • You will maintain a clean and safe working environment, in line with infection control guidelines
  • As Senior Cardiac Nurse, you will assist in the training and development of nurses and other team members as appropriate
  • Takes ownership to fulfil the requirements of any required statutory and mandatory training including, Immediate Life Support (ILS) training

What you'll need:

  • Registered Nurse level 1 or equivalent
  • Flexibility to work the shifts required
  • Eligibility to drive in the UK (applicable to mobile roles)
  • Understanding of the requirements of a nurse's role within a Cardiac Catheter Lab environment
  • Infection Control training, Manual Handling and Patient Transfer training, Health and Safety
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy
  • Immediate life support training
  • Evidence of professional development since qualifying
  • Use of advanced clinical skills in emergency situations
  • Scrubbing for a variety of cardiac procedures
  • IV Drug administration
  • IV Cannulation
