What will you be doing? Caring for people is hard work but an extremely rewarding career choice. You will be taking responsibility for the physical, emotional, well-being and social needs of our elderly residents. Going that extra mile to enrich the lives of our residents is a prerequisite in order to provide them with the best in care, dignity and support. A typical day would be assisting residents with personal care such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and helping with meals. Being able to promote all our residents’ independence, dignity and choice is an extremely important to us at Akari Care and this will come naturally to you. Maintaining accurate care records is very important and you will have an eye for detail to enable if any problems arise you are well equipped and ready to deal with this. If this sounds like the opportunity for you, when you are ready to apply, consider the following: You have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards this; You maintain and execute excellent standard of care and Health & Safety standards; You have a positive attitude, be a team player and work on your own initiative with effective time management skills; You are friendly and welcoming as you would be the first point of call to residents and their families; You possess effective communication, interpersonal and listening skills; You can provide a high level of personal care including assisting residents during meal times, bathing and dressing; You are able to observe care planning needs for residents and complete daily records as instructed; You are attentive, empathetic and sensitive to resident in all aspects of their needs; You are motivating, engaging, and show strong leadership abilities as to lead a care team promoting rehabilitation and independence, together with dignity and respect, such that the lives of our residents as they would wish it, and choose it, to be.
