Are you a strategically focused and tech savvy accountant looking to join a market leading professional services firm in the City? Would you like to support a rapidly changing firm through an exciting period of growth in a newly created Chief Financial Officer role? Our client is a leading accountancy practice who have seen significant growth in the past 5 years and have ambitious plans for the future. In order to provide the strategic and operational support required from the internal finance team to the partner base, the firm have created a new CFO role, reporting directly to the firm's Leadership Team. The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of the firm's growth strategy and play a full part in the overall management and development of the business. You will also work closely with the Heads of other support functions including IT, Marketing, Business Development and HR. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial performance and position of the Firm as well as all business planning and financial systems and controls for the business. You will be expected to provide complete financial oversight of the business and also provide the Leadership Team and the Board with strategic input on the ongoing development of the business. Job duties and responsibilities include: Manage and control the firm's annual operating budget to monitor progress in meeting the financial targets of the business, including the production of monthly management accounts. Responsible for ensuring that all statutory regulations and returns are complied with. Understand and help mitigate key elements of the Group's risk profile Proactively and effectively challenge and improve financial performance. Develop a management information reporting framework to provide the Leadership Team and the Board with accurate and timely information and enable internal and external benchmarking of KPIs. Provide financial and strategic insight to the Leadership Team and the Board, to include identification of financial issues, trends and commercial opportunities. Liaison with the Head of Tax as it relates to partnership tax matters. Production of statutory accounts for the LLP and all trading subsidiaries together with sufficient supporting working papers and analyses for audit. Preparation of detailed partnership accounts analysing profits between partners and setting out partner transactions and balances. Working capital management with particular emphasis on cash generation. Be the principal point of contact with the firm's bankers and auditors and develop strong and positive relationships with them. Identify process and technology efficiencies to improve the firm's financial recording and reporting software, provide support and training to the team to ensure efficient and effective application. Provide financial input for specific projects as they arise from time to time including potential acquisitions. Prepare for and participate in Partners' conferences and board/executive meetings as required Overall responsibility for dealing with administrative matters including insurances, negotiating with key suppliers, and coordinating facilities and property management across the Firm. Oversee contracts and services provided by external suppliers to ensure appropriate terms are in place and that these are operating effectively for the Firm. Manage and develop the Firm's finance function, including continual review and assessment of working practices, financial controls and procedures. Direct and oversee all finance staff to ensure that the finance function performs to the required standard and that the finance function is appropriately structured with the right mix of experience and skills. As the successful candidate you will: Be a qualified member of a relevant accountancy body Have a proven record of acting in a CFO or Finance Director role for a commercial organisation with multiple divisions. Demonstrate working knowledge of corporate financial and partnership law and risk management practices Be commercially astute with a proven ability of analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving capability. Have experience of leading and managing a finance team and of leading and managing change as it relates to the Finance function's responsibilities Show an ability and willingness to operate at both a strategic and hands on level.
