Title: Shift Manager

Site: Bodmin

Shift/Working hours: 4 on 4 off – 06:00 -18:00

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Shift Manager within our production area. As a manager within the Bodmin site you are expected to meet all the functional KPI’s through a process of leading, Coaching, mentoring and challenging as well as actively support and deliver change oriented activities and projects. You will need to be able to deliver on Key Performance Indicators such as H&S, Food safety, Customer service/Quailty, Labour control, Overall Operation performance, whilst ensuring the management operating systems for the area is accurately managed, maintained and developed to enable responsive fact based management of the operation. You will be able to Self motivate and motivate others to want to achieve the results and targets that are required of the department and site.

You will need to be comfortable in challenging, mentoring and coaching people and able to challenge process and practices within the factory, that will enable you to carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment both in terms of people and the local area in which we operate.

Main Duties of the Role (Not exhaustive):

To objectively assess own teams performance and develop improvement plans against the working to standards agenda
To ensure that Key operators are responsible for all aspects of line operation
To ensure clarity of role for team members to include assigning tasks, coaching, following up and feeding back to individuals
To initiate and support Continuous Improvement projects
Coordination of exceptional activity such as product trials, changes to standard working patterns etc
Conduct data analysis – able to plot trends and spot opportunities
To review and track current performance and identify targeted improvement areas to remove bottle necks
To deliver agreed CI strategy
Work closely with other support functions on site.

Our ideal candidate will need to be a hands on person, that is able to drive and push through results whilst ensuring that they have a fully motivated and enthused team that works alongside them. The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge of factory systems, processes and procedures and be recognised as an expert in all operational areas. You will be able to demonstrate tangible and sustained KPI improvement under the five manufacturing sectors. You will or have been used to actively encouraging, organizing and applying lean techniques and processes.
