What will this role of Systems Engineer entail?

As a Systems Engineer you’ll be part of the dedicated Support Team, which provides support both at customer sites and remotely. Your duties will include supporting requests and logging them onto the helpdesk system; troubleshooting and resolving complex issues whilst maintaining an accurate task record; participating with infrastructure installation, hardware refresh and other projects, as well as carrying out the installation of new equipment and software at customer premises.

What will I need to be considered for this Systems Engineer vacancy?

Thorough knowledge of current IT technology systems, including:

* Microsoft Server (Apply online only)
* Microsoft Desktop PC OS XP to Windows 10
* Microsoft Active Directory
* Microsoft Exchange (Apply online only)
* Microsoft Office 365 / Azure
* Server Virtualisation (HyperV and VMware)
* LAN / WAN (routers, switches, firewall)
* High level desktop support skills
* Backup and DR technologies
* Dell / HP Server Hardware
* Different types of storage infrastructures

In addition to the above, you will also need:

* Proven experience within IT systems engineering, ideally working for a Managed Service Provider
* Excellent communications and problem solving skills
* Superb organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise work load
* Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
* Self-motivated, with a positive “can do” attitude
* Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team

Although not essential, the following are desirable for the role:

* Either MCSA or MCSE Microsoft accredited
* Experience of using SharePoint management and support services
* Experience of using ShadowProtect and BackupExec products

Salary: £20,000 to £30,000, level dependent on experience and qualifications

Additional Benefits: 21 days holiday, Company-wide bonus scheme, staff incentives including regular social events, cash plan healthcare upon successful completion of probationary period together with a Company mobile phone scheme.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, with start and finish times to be agreed, but the official opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm. Flexibility will be required to meet customer needs.

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Sandycroft (Deeside, North Wales). You may also be required to visit customer sites across the UK.
