My client is a market leading expert in the latest research, technology and manufacturing methods of medical substances, who continuously adapt and innovate in order to meet ever changing product demands.

Responsible for ensuring Procurement best practice with an aim of leveraging best value for money on expenditure and ensuring compliance with procurement processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities -

• Responsible for leveraging best value for money from BPL’s expenditure through competitive tendering, negotiation and preferential contract terms.
• Run competitive processes (typically 3 quotes / accelerated RFP processes) to select fit-for-purpose suppliers for BPL across a range of goods and services;
o Understand business needs and profile requirement
o Specification writing and support
o Conduct supply market research (desktop / supplier meetings) to understand supply challenges (price, quality, availability, etc.) and shortlist potential suppliers
o Issue RFQ / RFP and manage responses
o Analyse supplier proposals
o Provide commercial recommendations
o Negotiate with suppliers and recommend suppliers
o Establish contracts / T&Cs with selected suppliers
o Liaise with Finance to track and record achieved benefits
• Bring commercial rigour and acumen to supplier selection processes
• Guide the business in any ongoing sourcing activities within their departments
• Manage business stakeholders effectively across different functions; Provide a good personal service to colleagues;
• Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of seniority, both verbally and in writing.
• Create well-structured documents and presentations.
• Build and maintain strong, positive and trusting relationships with all key stakeholders.
• Performance management of suppliers, through regular supplier meetings and monitoring of KPIs to improve the quality and robustness of their service provision.
• Effectively conduct contractual negotiations with suppliers as and when required outside of sourcing processes

• Support Category Managers with supplier relationship management programmes and competitive tendering processes
• Assess and make recommendations to continuously improve existing procurement processes
• Support Head of Procurement in compliance management of Procurement processes across BPL
• Provide analytical support as and when required to the other ongoing Procurement initiatives
• In tracking progress of supplier relationships, manage the basic processes of in-contract performance measurement and management.
• Support in transactional purchasing including expediting and raising requisitions as and when required

Required for the role are -

• Proven procurement professional with full or part qualified CIPS
• 3 years’ experience in a procurement role
• Can demonstrate an ability to think creatively to solve ill-defined and complex sourcing challenges
• Manipulation of data to improve business process and delivery of role
• Keen analytical mind
• Ability to work on their own without supervision
• Proven track record of stakeholder management and engagement
• Excellent, Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
