We are looking for a talented Senior Grants Officer who thrives on writing compelling, well-judged applications; who works collaboratively with others in the organisation to help cultivate support, and who takes pride in seeing the results create changing services for beneficiaries. You will be joining a small medium sized charity with a nationally recognised brand who are as much for their staff, as they do for their beneficiaries.

The Charity
A medium sized social welfare charity whos name and brand is recognised nationwide. This is a fantastic time to join the charity - last year, they launched a new 5 Year Plan which sets out ambitious goals for the organisation including a doubling of the number of people in crisis they help by 2021/22. To achieve this, they will continue to grow income over this time in a considered and sustainable way, taking the charity from c. 3.8m this financial year to over 6m pa.

You will be able to work with a successful Directors Group and an inspiring and grounded Chief Executive. At your disposal are highly engaged senior projects staff who, with your direction, are adept at building strong relationships with funders. You will be joining a charity with a clear vision for the organisations future; and a supportive and integrated work environment. The Role
Responsible for supporting the Grants Manager in securing and managing income against a defined target from a variety of sources, developing enduring funder relationships. Potential funders include charitable trusts and foundations, livery companies, Big Lottery Fund and non-commissioned statutory funds. A key part of this role will be working with services, policy and finance teams cross the organisation to ensure project plans are developed to enable successful funding applications.

Alongside the Grants Manager, you will have the opportunity to deliver further success to a well-established grants programme, in new and innovative ways. The charity has built a strong portfolio, a reputation for first-class reporting, and a growing small grants mailing programme. Right now, our largest supporters include Children in Need, the Scottish Government, Home Office, St Jamess Place Charitable Foundation, several private trusts and the Big Lottery Fund.

The Candidate
Extensive knowledge of the charity sector and different types of funding sources;
Proven experience in a trust fundraising and/or statutory fundraising role with clear success in securing multi-year grants;
Sound understanding of trends in grant giving and emerging funding streams.
Exceptional written skills in drafting compelling bids, presentations, reports, briefings;
Highly skilled in donor research and developing donor plans
Team player, with an ability to build strong relationships (internally and externally) as well as work autonomously when needed;
Calm and confident approach that secures buy-in from colleagues across the organisation;
Ability to develop and drive forward new projects and initiatives, taking the lead and/or working collaboratively with colleagues;
