My client is a market leading manufacturer and developer of High Grade pharmacuetical products with a Global reach. Due to investment and expansion they are looking to strenghten their S & OP function and as such have brough this role to market.

The S&OP Process Developer will be responsible for developing and improving the 24-month S&OP process. This process covers commercial demand, medium term planning, production line scheduling and materials planning, ensuring achievable and realistic plans are developed in line with customer requirements and budget expectations.

The jobholder will also support the development of planning processes / tools / KPI’s to ensure planning systems and procedures are continuously improved.

Authority and decision making -

• Support final decisions based on business knowledge, data and stakeholder feedback.
• Decisions will influence factory efficiency, product shortages and market representation.
• Execution of correct decisions is crucial to support the medium term planning as well as day to day operational activity.
• Based on the scale of the issue and in their remit of an expert, the role holder will be empowered and expected to take ownership of their decisions through to completion.
• In the event of difficulties/obstacles these may be raised with their direct line management however this will be in extreme situations and solutions and recommendations will need to be provided.

People Management
• Although no direct management responsibilities the role holder will be expected to coach and mentor more junior members of the team in relationship with their area of expertise
• Extensive engagement and influencing skills are required to manage both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• The role is a key member of the Supply Chain Team, and is expected to play a full part in driving developments and improvements within the department.
• The role holder will very much “self-start” in investigating business issues and opportunities to improve the S&OP process
• The role holder will be responsible for providing excellent information reporting to Site. The role holder will support the development of all data and materials in support of the S&OP process, including engagement in S&OP sessions, the Demand Review process, the Site Supply Meeting process and the Executive S&OP meeting. It is expected that there will be aligned working with Finance to drive operational options and business cases with a common language to aid executive decision-making.
• To support the planning team through the S&OP requirements, ensuring plans are transferrable to master schedules and detailed production / materials requirements – all with responsibility for ensuring consistent and timely product supply to maximize customer satisfaction and market opportunities.
• Close liaison with relevant functions (Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Commercial and Engineering) to ensure alignment on process engineering.
• Ensuring the S&OP Function provides current and accurate data for all Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system needs, as required by agreed site data management processes.
• Provide regular communication update to all levels of the business in a variety of formats.
• Develop, monitor and optimise capacity planning to ensure best fit for product delivery to agreed customer deadlines.
• Ensure production execution is tracking to agreed plan, to meet future S&OP plans/targets
• Identify improvement opportunities for Supply Chain and other business processes that impact customer satisfaction.
• Participate in development of existing and new supply chain planning processes, systems and tools.
