Procurement Specialist

The Position:

Our nationally recognised Chesterfield based client have an opportunity for a a key Procurement specialist; to assist the Procurement Manager in building a cohesive overall Procurement Strategy and operational delivery, with aligned policy and process development, implementation and adherence for growth plans.Key points as follows;

  • Supplier sourcing
  • Internal and external communications / negotiations
  • Contract negotiation
  • Authority and Sign T&C’s
  • Responsible for executing the Procurement Roadmap
  • Actively working to ensure that all category suppliers stay and perform within contract and agreed terms
  • Responsible for regularly monitoring category supplier’s performance, reviews, audits, monthly reporting and escalating / taking appropriate action
  • Relationship management - building and maintaining supplier relationships through regular face to face supplier meetings
  • Continual monitoring and achievement of savings targets
  • Project planning & coordination
  • Liaising with User departments to ensure quality procurement service partnering and timely delivery
  • Efficient time management to ensure agreed contract terms for all purchases
  • Procurement Policy, Procedures and WI development, communication and compliance consistency
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Actively involved in achieving qualitative and quantitative improvements within Procurement and Think Business programme to achieve business synergies and optimised ways of working
  • Responsibility and ownership for end to end administration within the category; ensuring all documents, processes and procedures are optimised and stored securely


Experience Required:

  • High degree of commercial professionalism

  • Strong stakeholder / relationship management expertise - able to influence at all levels and challenge professionally

  • MCIPS qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within Procurement department



System Knowledge Required:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of procurement tools and systems
  • Office systems – SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics
  • IT Procurement / project experience

Core Working hours = 8:45am and 5pm Monday to Friday with flexibility
