An Automation Services Manager is required to join a successful and growing Technology Services company. They make it their business to provide outstanding, innovative service where quality, integrity and respect are key values. The company delivers a variety of outsourced, managed and project services across a wide range of clients, mainly in the SMB/SME marketplace.

As the Team Leader for Automation Services you will be responsible for the continuous development of automated, centralised management and monitoring platforms used to deliver a proactive, outsourced IT service to their clients. You will work with a small team to ensure delivery of this proactive service, developing and enhancing our capabilities. The platforms include Labtech RMM and Cacti as well as MSP management solutions for backup, AV, encryption and network device management. You will actively seek out new opportunities to improve processes and increase ticket resolution using automation.

The successful candidate will have the following essential skills:

- PowerShell scripting
- Windows command line and VBS scripting
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux OS
- Knowledge of network device operation, e.g. for switches, routers and wireless access points
- Knowledge of MySQL database queries and the ability to incorporate queries into PowerShell scripts
- Configuration knowledge of network monitoring platforms such as Cacti, Nagios, PRTG, etc

Desirable Skills include:

- Experience of any RMM platform such as Labtech, N-able or Kaseya
- Practical knowledge of SNMP monitoring tools such as SYSLOG or similar

The role will involve continued development of proactive monitoring and management for:

- Server availability
- Internet connectivity (latency and bandwidth)
- Disk space
- CPU usage
- System and device temperatures
- Switch and router availability
- Network utilization
- Backups
- AV solutions
- Security incidents
- Event logs
- Critical service alerts
- Service availability
- Security scanning
- MDM

It will also require the further development of automated services such as:

- Windows and Software patching
- Scripted Software installations/uninstallations
- OS deployments
- Maintenance scripts

An important part of the role will be to ensure that data and statistical information can be integrated with business intelligence reporting. You will also be the escalation point for automated alert tickets that junior members of your team cannot resolve.
