Full-Time or Part-Time, Minimum of 6 months clinical experience, Degree or Diploma in Nursing.

Job Description

As an intensive care nurse, you will be required to work closely with physicians and other members of the health care team. You will need to be skilled in assessment of patients and capable of using high tech equipment. As a Critical care nurse, you must possess physical, mental, and emotional stamina to work with seriously ill patients and their loved ones.

About the client

Our client serves North Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and a large part of south east Staffordshire, including Burntwood, Lichfield and Tamworth. The catchment population is about 450,000.

The hospital provides acute and general medicine and other specialist services including the Partnership Learning Centre, which is part-funded by the Medical School of the University of Birmingham.

Job summary

  • Providing the necessary care for patients
  • Acting as a liaison for patients and the families of patients
  • Respecting the rights and beliefs of patients
  • Monitoring the care that patients receive
  • Offering assistance that is in the best interest of the patient
  • Interceding for patients in situations that require action immediately
  • Representing the patient according to his or her choice
  • Providing support and education that can help patients and their designated surrogate make the best decisions possible.

What we need from you

  • ITU certificate
  • Mandatory training Basic Life Support, Moving and Handling
  • Immunisation reports
  • Excellent patient care
  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Professional registration with the NMC
  • Two clinical references relevant to this clinical setting
