These are some of the words that are being used to describe the opportunity we have available. Our client is a top tier consultancy firm, with a rapidly expanding division that provides tactical and strategic solutions for banking operational and legal teams in the delivery of a range of projects, driven in a large part by regulatory change. Whether it's FATCA, MiFID2, CASS, Brexit… These are the guys who get the call to solve the problem and deliver it. This might be in the form of transaction reporting, contracts negotiation (ISDA / CSA), Client Outreach, KYC, Client On-Boarding, Credit Analysis, Data Analysis and more. You could be BAU, SME, Change management (PMO, Project management, Business Analysis). The list goes on. They're busy! This is the division that not only delivers a working solution for the banks, but looks at the potential of running a full managed service solution for the future. Such is the ambition of the group, they have the investment, infrastructure and technologies that is making them the first stop for a next generation solution to a bank's infrastructure design.
So where do you fit in? Well… there are a number of projects running currently across tier 1 & 2 banks providing different solution types. The current most pressing need is for the following:
The consulting firm is experiencing a surge in demand for their client outreach programmes at Investment Banks. The work would involve reaching out to an existing bank client base to explain to them the changes that will occur as a result of moving the platform to another European country. For this we need bright graduates with 18 months + IB operational experience, ideally gained in a role that involved external client contact. This could be OTC Confirmations, Client On-Boarding, Prime Brokerage, Sales / Trade Support, Breaks and Reconciliations…. An experience where you're adept at handling client issues, understanding the "play book" that you're working from, and the logic behind it. Also to understand trade flows to the extent that should a query arise from the move, you can understand the logic and escalate across the right channels. Full support and training will be given, but the underlying knowledge and understanding of how the bank works is essential. It is likely that we will also be looking at some legal contracts negotiators to look at supplier agreements and ISDAs soon aswell. More to follow on that side.
The positions are contracting roles, to last 6 months initially with a high likelihood of an extension to 9-12 months. Given the expanding order book though, please don't be surprised that once you finish this programme, they snap you up for another one. If you're good, and you adopt the consultancy approach quickly, then the opportunity is there to build diversity into your roles and break away from the treadmill!
