Overview:
  • Our client is a growing and reputable 3rd Party Distribution business and they are currently expanding rapidly across the organisation.
  • In this challenging and new position for this depot, you report directly and work closely with the Regional Operations Director with a dotted line into the Finance Director.
  • My client urgently requires an individual who will be based at the site with the ability to immediately start making commercial decisions.
The Role:
  • You will will be tasked with driving performance and profitability through analysis, insight and business partnering for the region.
  • You will play a key role in the delivery of operational support, ensuring that rigorous financial control systems (revenue data capture through to final invoicing) are in place.
  • You will ensure that the business is maximising all returns on investment.
  • You have the ability to build and express financial (P&L) trends, identify key triggers (Financial KPIs) and establish cost and revenue drivers.
  • You will produce internal and external financial reports and conduct review meetings.
  • You will work with key stakeholders delivering day to day financial objectives for the business.
  • You will create Daily Flash Reports and ensure the Operations Director is fully aware of any negative / positive P&L factors.
  • You will work closely with the Commercial team and the Operation Director on new customer quotations and tender reviews.
  • You will review and approve asset needs (advising Operations Directors on cost), supplier spend, Purchase Order approval (via a weekly audit).
The Talent:
  • You are entrepreneurial and have a ‘roll up the sleeves’ attitude to work.
  • Ideally you have some knowledge and experience of logistics management systems and have experience of operating at ‘senior management level’ in a 3PL / Transport environment.
  • You are ideally CIMA/ACCA or ACA qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience.
  • You have a high level of business and commercial acumen and can contribute to broader business issues.
  • You have a good industry profile with the gravitas to represent the business with major clients and advantageous if you have implemented successful change management previously.
  • Your development is a major factor and career progression in this role is all about moving upwards into senior financial executive positions.
