The hours are 7.30-4-30pm Monday to Thursday, 7-30 to 2pm Friday – but with some overtime (obviously as it is a maintenance role).

Benefits:
- 24 days holiday per year
- 2 x salary death in service benefit
- After 3 months service, sickness insurance (subject to acceptance / conditions from insurance company) of 75% of basic pay for 12 months.
- Basic pay - as advertised - per hour.
- Weekday overtime: time + 1/3
- Saturday overtime: time + 1/2

The Company:
Ashfield Extrusion is a successful profit making company with a very stable workforce (including apprentices) and is a good place to work.

As the core of our business is impact extrusion and technical components – pressing, trimming, machining, degreasing and coating and printing – we have both a lot of variety and also, being an unusual and technically difficult process, we are secure in our markets. We have also been growing steadily for a number of years including all through the 2008 crash and it's aftermath.

The Job:
- Hands-on electrical engineering with some mechanical
- Electrical safety testing and upgrades
- breakdowns, planned maintenance and improvements
- Electrical installations
- in house power press maintenance (training will be given) - some power press experience would be an advantage but is not essential
- comply with Health and Safety procedures and schedules

The candidate:
- must be experienced (at least 5 years in a maintenance role) and time served (or modern equivalent)
- electrical: 17th Edition essential
- C&G 2391-52 Inspection and Testing (or 2394-95) would be an advantage
- basic knowledge of inverter drives and PLCs would be an advantage
- mechanical aptitude also essential
- must be cooperative and able to work in a team

If you don’t want to get your hands dirty then don’t apply – this is not an office job!
Nor is it an IT, robotics or electronics role but it is, in the main, traditional level 3 electrical work - and there's nothing wrong with that.
