Our client is looking for an experienced Business Support Accountancy Assistant

Job Summary

This role provides finance and systems support to staff in the Legal Services Division, under the direction of the Practice Manager.
The ideal candidate would have experience in Finance and an interest in Legal.

This would be a great opportunity for somebody interested in applying their finance skills in a business setting. We would provide full training on our legal systems and processes.

To provide finance and systems support to assist with the administration and improvement of key business systems and processes in the Legal Services Division, including:
entering and updating records on the department’s case management system
keeping up-to-date and accurate records of departmental expenditure and income
Regularly reviewing processes to ensure that they meet current business requirements.
Preparing excel pivot table reports for clients and legal managers
preparing chargeable time schedules to enable timely and accurate billing, invoicing and recharging
Working on own initiative to liaise with suppliers and clients to resolve payment issues.
Carrying out other administrative tasks and duties appropriate to the grade, as required

The duties above are the core tasks. There are other small projects that add interest and development opportunities to this role.


Knowledge of MS Office and experience of using these applications at an intermediate level.
Experience of working within a finance team
Experience of providing finance and systems support in a professional environment
Knowledge of case management and financial systems gained in a legal practice, ideally with a local authority or other public-sector organisation
