The Role
The Green Recruitment Company is responsible for finding an individual for the role of Director of Engineering. This role offers autonomy of work covering final sign off of geotechnical data and reports. The aim would be to actively market the core products of the company, promoting newer innovation over more traditional techniques, while mentoring the development of staff members through leadership.

Responsibilities of the role
• Use written and oral fluency to convey information both internally and externally, applying awareness of team dynamics while simultaneously maximising company profitability.
• Provide specialist technical advice to all parts of the company, including international markets.
• Manage civil engineering design elements.
• Contribute and input in the promotion of the company with project related or technical articles.
• Understand the needs of the clients and pro-actively apply this in building longevity within company/client relationships.
• Provides progress reports that illustrate company position.
• Navigate the external influences on the company; ensuring discretion with sensitive and confidential information, while tactically and strategically enforcing decisions in line with company strategy.
• Act as line manager for allocated staff ensuring understanding on the projected effect of actions at tactical and strategic level.

Experience and skills
• Degree in civil engineering.
• A proven track record in the practicalities of civil engineering design and design management.
• Give commercial input within technical parameters for client tenders and proposals.
• Chartered status or soon to be chartered status.
• Understanding the range of available engineering techniques.
• A working knowledge of foundation, earthworks and infrastructure designs would be an advantage.
• A wide range of civil design experience.
• Actual design experience.
• A combination of site and head office experience
• Ability to work within UK standards, codes of practice and current technologies.
