Sewell Wallis are currently working on behalf of a specialist engineering / construction business based in Chesterfield with a rare and exciting opportunity for a Trainee Purchasing Assistant to join their vibrant, busy and expanding operations team.

Reporting into a highly driven Operations Manager and Director you will form part of an established team who provide a high quality service to their client base.
To assist Project Managers in managing projects on behalf of the company on a day to day basis, ensuring that a support structure is in place to facilitate efficient management and control of ongoing projects.

They are looking to take on an equally ambitious, results driven and self-motivated individual to compliment this team.
The successful candidate will be offered training and the opportunity to gain in depth purchasing experience.

Duties include:-

-Assisting the Project Managers in running current projects on a daily basis, paying particular attention to vehicle management, purchasing and project administration.
-The job holder will ensure compliance with current legislation (health and safety, environmental and quality) and company policies.
-Taking part in project handovers from estimating to operations, gain early involvement to enable completion of duties and key responsibilities.
-Interface when necessary with company site staff to facilitate enactment of project plans.

Suitable applicants will:-

-Have strong systems skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
-Have excellent communication skills.
-Be self motivated.
-Ideally have experience working in purchasing, or civil engineering operations at site or project administrative positions desirable, but not essential.
