A Middlesbrough SEN school is seeking to appoint a teaching assistant from September 2018 until December 2018. There is a strong possibility that a permanent contract will be offered at the end of this time scale.

Close to excellent transport links and within easy access of the A19, the school is located in the Grangetown area of Middlesbrough. The school caters from children, aged 5-16 years with SEMH difficulties and delivers a personalised curriculum that aims to enable pupils to fulfil their educational potential.

If successful you will support pupils across key stages 1 -4 in their lessons and assist in the development of their social and emotional skills. At times you will responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of some learning activities.

You ideally with have experience of working with pupils with SEMH needs, although support will be offered to those without this experience but who are willing to work in this area. It would be advantageous for the candidate to hold a team teach qualification. Candidates with a background in youth work, sports coaching, ex police or with a military background will also be considered.

Ideal candidates will have:

* Teaching Assistant experience with relevant qualifications
* Experience of supporting children with a background in SEMH
* A patient and nurturing manner
* Excellent behaviour management skills
