IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist
Are you an experienced IT Support and Infrastructure Specialist looking for a new role in a dynamic and growing organisation? Then this could be the role for you! We are looking for a self-motivated, driven and enthusiastic individual to join our growing IT Team as an IT Support and Infrastructure Specialist, based in Blackburn at our head office. You will be responsible for giving support to the GAP group of companies and providing support on general IT infrastructure and applications. Experience and skills; Database technologies; T-SQL, SQL Server Telephony and internet protocols Providing excellent customer experience and service Problem and incident management Vmware Windows server 2012 An understanding of basic networking Supporting bespoke applications Experience of working in an IT department Ability to do in depth investigation into application faults, tracing down error messages etc. Potential data corrections Team player Creative problem solver and able to think out-side the box Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Ability to work to deadlines It's an exciting time to be joining us here at GAP as with the recent purchase of SIG Building Plastics and windows businesses, we now have 100 depots and counting! Duties of the role to include (but not limited to); Supporting IT systems and applications on a 3rd line level Ensuring Support is delivered in a timely and accurate manor. Work closely with global stakeholders and peers Assist in requirements identification and in producing specifications Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation Participate in team knowledge management and make recommendations for continuous improvement of our Agile Methodologies Participate in knowledge sharing and pair programing Ensure that work carried out maintains data security and integrity. Suggest and implement new changes based on working practices in the rest of the business.
