Credit Risk Policy Manager
Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum depending upon experience
Location: Head Office, West Bromwich
A new opportunity has arisen for a Credit Risk Policy Manager to own the development of the Society’s credit risk policies and practices to ensure they are both robust from a risk management perspective and support the Society’s lending objectives.

·Manage, coach and support the Credit Risk Policy Analyst
·Act as the Credit Risk Subject Matter Expert within the mortgage development programme
·Develop the Society’s credit risk policies to ensure they support risk appetite and lending objectives
·Represent Credit Risk at a variety of forums both internally and externally
·Produce reviews on time and accurately of credit risk policies, ensuring policies articulate the Society’s attitude to risk management in a way that provides the Board with overall comfort of the type of lending undertaken
·Be an expert in affordability and other credit risk decision tools
·Understand the importance of data quality and provide guidance as to the level of detail that is required to be stored. Consider the impacts on the Society’s IRB programme
·Maintain and develop Credit Risk systems, such as the internal and external affordability calculators
Skills & Attributes
·Educated to degree standard or proven track record of operating in an intellectually challenging environment
·Experience of working within financial services in a mortgage related role
·Experience of mortgage origination system development and implementing key credit risk controls such as scorecard and affordability models
·Strong time management and prioritisation skills with a high degree of personal motivation and initiative
·High level of attention to detail, solution driven and innovative
·Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
·Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and 3rd parties
