On behalf of our client I am recruiting for a Sales Engineer for a global manufacturer of gas turbines, based in Lincoln.
Candidates would need to have a solid engineering background and understanding of gas turbines would be preferable.
Responsible for the identification and interpretation of all scheduled and unscheduled parts enquiries. You will also assist sales teams in processing chargeable spares orders and the creation of recommended spares lists, in order to maximize any sales opportunities
Product, control and guidance for contract specific spare part records in standardized format in support of all service projects
Establishing the scope of spares to be recommended to customer
Investigating components to determine if they are for recommending as spare parts and recording the results on the SAPSES computer for future use as recommended spares
Constantly review work in progress and standard recommended data on SAPSES computer system in relation to 'E' Forms etc and amending as required
Ensure that spares engineering engine history records, are kept current and provide quality data control to ensure new parts, supersession data etc. is created and maintained accurately
Provide spares support to Market Support in the bid process to help secure new business. Including the compiling of technical engineering notes to customers, on request, using SAP Spares Engineering system to explain spares supersession
Interrogate history records and engineering data to determine core engine and package build status therefore enabling correct spares supply
Liaise with sub-suppliers/procurement regarding identification, interchangeability, suitability and availability of spares for bought-out equipment
To ensure all the processes and compliance requirements are implemented and strictly adhered to
Be aware of the organisation's safety and security procedures, ensuring they are adhered to at all times
Provide spares support for customer urgent shutdowns, react promptly and professionally to urgent requests for information on spares and for driving improvements in quick response situations
Candidates should also have a degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Previous experience of working on rotating equipment. Good understanding of Gas Turbines, Compressors and/or Steam Turbine packages, driven units and associated equipment, with some experience in delivering service products to the customer in an operating environment. Commercial awareness, problem solving and creative thinking with quality and efficiency being the main focus. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be able to work as a team member. Awareness of different cultures and customs.
