Accountant - Brentwood, Essex - £35,000 - £45,000

I am currently assisting a Global Logistics business that is opening a new office within Brentwood, Essex due to growth and further expansion. This is an interesting time for the business and would suit confident, outgoing and ambitious Accountants looking to grow with a business.

The UK Office will be based in Brentwood with the business planning to further grow the team over the coming months. This would allow ample responsibility and internal opportunities within the firm for progression over the years, including setting up and managing a finance team.

Job Description:

As an Accountant, the role will include complete responsibility for all finance duties including working closely with fellow office employees to complete necessary tasks.

Responsibilities:

* Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and financial accounts
* Responsibility for reporting and forecasting contract profit/loss
* Monthly balance sheet control procedures and reconciliations
* Overseeing quarterly forecasting for the business and its support units including VAT returns & payroll process
* Preparing periodic financial statements, including P&L accounts, budgets, cash flow, variance analysis and commentaries, income and cash flow etc, including schedules
* Responsible for all payroll and tax filings (I.e. P11D, P60, VAT, PAYE/NI, etc.)
* Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet & P&L accounts (i.e fixed assets, prepaid, accruals, intercompany, etc.)
* Performing accounting tasks related to projects/programs related to customer billings/invoices
* Performance based milestone invoices, progress payment requests and submit monthly reports
* Assisting the business further grow by suggesting/implementing new processes

Requirements:

* Qualified Accountant with a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
* Experience within a logistics business is advantageous, but not essential
* Netsuite experience would be an advantage, but not essential
* Strong IT skills and sound knowledge of Excel
* Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, can do' attitude, organised and independent
* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines but also having a strong social presence

There may also be the option of flexible working and would suit confident Accountants with a sociable personality.
