Software Developer

Our client is a progressive, independent UK based software company delivering fast and modern solutions on a modular basis to their customers. They are growing and profitable as a result of this continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their team by appointing a software developer.

The role will be varied and challenging as we are looking for someone with excellent numeracy and IT skills with good knowledge of object orientated languages (e.g. C# or Java) as well as a sound understanding of front end design and web technologies including HTML5, CSS, Javascript / Typescript, JQuery, Angular 2, Electron, ASP.NET. NET Core 2 experience would be a real advantage.

You will need to have a good level of database skills such as SQL and/or Advantage whilst experience of Agile processes, Source Code Management such as SVN, GIT, TFS and Test Driven Development would be an advantage.

What the role will involve

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a good level of education; ideally degree educated in an IT discipline level or equivalent to join the business as a member of the software development team. Key skills required:

Development of application software to pre-written specifications using the companies standard libraries and programming techniques

Production of associated documentation: e.g. program notes, system user instructions, database definitions, version release notes, test plans etc.

Unit and Functional testing of product developed prior to handover

Other tasks associated with the running of the business e.g. reporting, data migration, testing, site visits etc.

Good communication skills

Good IT, database, numeracy and analytical/problem solving skills

Good organisational skills with a "can do" attitude

Personable, confident and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and meet customer expectations

Knowledge of the warehousing environment / warehouse management systems would be of particular benefit

Our client is based in modern offices in Lutterworth close to junction 20 of the M1 and yet close to the town centre.

What they offer:

Salary: Subject to experience, but up to £30K

Holidays: Initially 28 days including stats, rising annually to a maximum of 32 days
