Technical Communications Specialist

You will provide additional help to deal with the growing volume of work to deliver and refine their state-of-the-art HTML5-based, Learning and Information Centre, which provides intuitive product help and eLearning, online and on mobile devices.


· Maintaining and updating existing MadCap Flare topics, snippets, screenshots and related videos

· Work closely with the development team to design and develop processes to produce product Release Notes, and feed product updates into new and existing topics and modules

· Working closely with support, development, sales and marketing, consultants, subject matter experts, and heads of department to research, develop, and deliver new and existing MadCap Flare topics, product modules, How-Tos and related scenarios

· Research, design and deliver eLearning modules

· Maintain and update XHTML in-app help files and related links and videos

· Help to design, deliver, and maintain online and In-App help localisation and internationalisation

· Monitor and respond to issues logged against the documentation

· Contribute to the working methods and processes of the team


· MadCap Flare, Adobe Captivate, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

· Impeccable written English, and the ability to write consistently in accordance with current style

· Proven experience of working with development, support, consultants, sales and marketing and heads of departments to write and deliver customer-facing software documentation

· Ability to write easy-to-read text, and the capability to organise content clearly

· Ability to work independently to tight deadlines, across multiple projects simultaneously

· Excellent all-round communication skills

· Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

· Experience of writing Release notes and API documentation

· A good University degree or equivalent

The following would be highly desirable:

· Experience of working with Agile development teams

· Experience of working as part of an Agile documentation team

· Experience of working with localisation

· Experience of quick how-to video guides scripting and production
