SALARY & BENEFITS: £18,963.26 per annum

WORKING HOURS: Full time, Permanent- Monday to Friday

THE COMPANY: Our client is a registered charity and voluntary sector training provider and a 'not for profit' organisation that has supported the training of young people and adults, and are currently looking for an Essential Skills Tutor to work in Corby, Northamptonshire

THE ROLE:- Essential Skills Tutor - Corby, Northamptonshire

My client is currently looking to recruit an Essential Skills Tutor to work with students aged 14-19.

Work with learners engaged across a range of programmes including initial assessment activities, enrichment activities, which will include delivery of work skills, employability skills, life skills, personal and social development, British Values and wider key skills. Engage and encourage learners to identify opportunities and benefits of life-long learning. Support, coach and mentor through an innovative and interactive programme of activities designed to motivate and engage learners. Support learners to overcome personal and social barriers that prevent access to education and employment. Advise and support young people to gain work place opportunities. In conjunction with Managers identify and implement systems to ensure continuous quality improvements as defined by the Ofsted Inspectorate as good to outstanding provision.

Key Responsibilities to include:- Essential Skills Tutor - Corby, Northamptonshire

• Plan and deliver innovative training sessions to engage and motivate learners
• Motivate and support learners to address barriers, both social and educational, and aid young people to identify areas for development
• Provide support to individuals to engage in learning and work taster opportunities
• Deliver personal & social development qualifications supporting progression routes for young people
• Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, developing the curriculum offer, working with small groups and working on a one to one basis
• Set work to progress the individual, monitoring, and reviewing these targets against their agreed learning plan
• Monitor the progress of the young person including recording activities in line with RARPA
• Promote the principles of wellbeing and safeguarding of learners
• Undertake ad hoc duties as may be required by senior management commensurate with the grade of the position held

Candidate- Essential Skills Tutor - Corby, Northamptonshire

We are seeking an experienced Tutor to work with young people aged 14 – 19 on our study programmes, predominantly at entry level or level 1, delivering accredited work skills, employability skills, life skills, personal and social development, British Values and wider key skills. This is an opportunity to use your skills and experience to work with young people facing some of the greatest challenges. You will have the ability to motivate, engage, and use innovative teaching resources. The successful applicant must hold a teaching qualification, and have a proven track record of working with disadvantaged learners

You will have a natural flair for working with young people with significant barriers and have a flair for relationship building, plus strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must as you will handle confidential information integrity and confidentiality. We are seeking a quick thinker with outstanding administrative and attention to detail skills.

Key experience essential for the role: Essential Skills Tutor - Corby, Northamptonshire

• Previous experience in a similar role working with young people aged 14 – 19 is essential
• must hold a teaching qualification(CertEd, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification)
• Experience of mentoring, coaching and advising young people
• Computer literate
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
