Summary

There’s never been a more exciting time to work in Digital at the National Trust. As a key member of our Digital Product team, you'll play an important role in delivering our exciting digital roadmap and new enhancements to the Trust’s successful and award winning digital portfolio, whilst supporting our cross-departmental digital marketing and communications strategy. The role will work in partnership with a wider range of groups: from Agile IT Digital delivery teams to Digital Channel and Content teams, external partners to senior internal sponsors and stakeholders. This will help to deliver the ambitious vision for the organisation as a whole and the charity’s digital strategy.

This role will work between our two Swindon offices – Nexus Business Centre, and Heelis. Nexus offers space for our Scrum Agile project and product teams to be co-located and to work collaboratively to deliver great things.

Heelis is the Central Office for the National Trust; it was named after one of the Trust’s biggest benefactors Mrs William Heelis. There are approximately 700 staff from across the Trust’s directorates, including the Executive team and the Director General, are based here.

Heelis was designed to be highly sustainable and has won a number of nationally recognised awards.Designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Architects in 2005, this architectural gem uses timber from our woodlands and wool from Herdwick sheep grazed on Trust farmlands, to help make Heelis a unique working environment.

What you'll be doing

As well as working with IT Digital Project Managers to deliver Digital projects, you will be responsible for maintaining and continually improving digital products across the product lifecycle through and project deliveries. Initially focused on the linked projects and products of Digital Single Sign-In and MyNT.

As an experienced and driven digital product manager, you'll have delivered successful large and complex digital marketing products from idea to reality. You'll intimately know project & product management practices, both Agile and Prince 2, as well as product development lifecycles. Ideally you’ll have hands-on Scrum Agile experience, and be a certified Product Owner or Scrummaster.

You have a track record of getting the best from your delivery teams and working in a highly collaborative way with colleagues. Working closely with content, design, analytics and UX teams, you have championed user-centred practices to both serve and delight your target customers.

Who we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Knowledge and experience of Digital Product/Project management lifecycles, processes and practices, including governance requirements to a level of subject matter expert.
  • Degree level qualification, or equivalent, in relevant subject area.
  • A strong understanding of digital user experience (UX) and customer journeys.
  • Communications and stakeholder management processes and practices – building positive relationships
  • Professional project management/Scrum qualification (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner/Scrummaster, Prince 2, APMP) or equivalent.
  • Understanding of UX and Design principles and practices, and experience of analytics

You'll need to demonstrate the following experience on your CV/application;

  • Successful management of major, strategic or complex product portfolios in a multi-disciplined environment focused on digital marketing, web, and app technologies.
  • Sponsor, stakeholder and client / supplier relationship management.
  • Working with and managing 3rd party suppliers
  • Experience in planning and estimating, including financial considerations.
  • Experience of working closely with content and channel teams.
