Job Title:ESU Ambassador (North)

Contract type:Variable hours contract
Hours of work:Working hours are flexible (up to 33 hours per month)

Salary:£15.04 per hour

Location:Based within specified region (North)
Working from home, however regular travel will be required

We are seeking an ESU Ambassador based within the North region to support the Education Network team to recruit, manage and train delivery staff for our programmes and competitions, in addition to engaging ESU alumni with our work.

The English-Speaking Union is an international educational charity with programmes operating in over 50 countries. Through our programmes, scholarships and competitions, we enable people all over the world to become confident communicators, critical thinkers and empowered citizens.

The ESU Education Network is comprised of the following roles which enable the ESU to deliver our educational programmes, and ensure that we reach schools all over England and Wales:

  • Oracy Trainers, Mentors and Coaches (deliver workshops and residential programmes)
  • Judges (adjudicate our national competitions)
  • Alumni of ESU programmes, competitions and scholarships
  • Volunteers (support the delivery of programmes and competitions)

The main responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Support the growth and development of the Education Network and expand its reach across England and Wales.
  • Recruit, manage and train delivery staff and volunteers for programmes and competitions.
  • Be the point of contact for members of the ESU Education Network within region.
  • Ensure all HR files and contact information is kept up to date for delivery staff and volunteers in region.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to delivery staff and volunteers.
  • Contribute to the development of an Education Network community, including managing online platforms, regional communications and a vibrant social events programme.
  • Be an ambassador for the ESU and promote ESU education programmes at relevant external events.
  • Deliver ESU programmes and competitions, acting as an ambassador for good practice.
