Our client has gained the reputation for producing some of the world's most innovative and inspiring architectural hardware. CQR are working closely with them to recruit an exceptional person to join the team in a permanent position as a Skilled Production worker to carry out a wide range of duties including pattinating of brass products, using a chemical reaction to obtain a variety of finishes. This is a busy role that would suit someone who has previous experience within a skilled assembly or factory role; excellent practical skills, is good with their hands, dextrous and good at making things! You will have experience in manufacturing assembly work and a good eye for detail as the work requires the preparation of high end products so ensuring high quality of work is essential. About the job…

The Skilled Production Worker will be responsible for the pattinating and finishing of brass products using a chemical reaction to obtain a range of finishes; and assisting in the final assembly of a variety of architectural hardware products such as door handles or similar items to a very high quality standard. The skilled production worker will have training with the current team leader and will develop their existing skills. This is a key position for our client and as a small friendly company, the right personality fit for the job is also vitally important.

The Job…

• Carrying out final finish and pattinating of brass architectural hardware products to a very high quality standard.
• Following a strict chemical processing method to obtain a range of finishes to brass products
• Checking the finished items match our client’s quality standards and ensuring all are presented in a clean and uniform manner.
• Completing paperwork on a daily basis relating to work completed and using the companies CRM system to update information for the other teams.
• Ensuring all finished products are labelled and located correctly stored neatly and safely on racking.
• Working closely with Production Supervisor and reporting any ways to improve stocking system or ideas for general improvements to the role.
• Providing a weekly stock maintenance report.
• Carrying out other duties such as goods in and packing for despatch.
• Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of working area and any tools and machinery used.

The Right Person…

• Must have experience within manufacturing assembly environment.
• Excellent manual dexterity skills; the ability to work with small parts and produce a high quality finished product.
• Will have an “eye for detail” and problem solving skills and be able to follow strict chemical processing methods.
• Live within a commutable distance to Barnstaple.
• Work under their own initiative, and be able to handle pressures of deadlines and a busy working environment.
• Have a positive and friendly personality, be keen to learn and able to work within a very friendly team.
• Must want to be part of a growing company that produces very unique products to a high specification.


• Salary from £16,000 to £18,000 per annum depending on experience
• Hours Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm.
• Annual Holiday 20 days + bank holidays, parking, staff canteen.
