Accounts Assitant


Up to £17500 depending on experience

This is the ideal opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk who is looking to further a career in Finance within a supportive and friendly environment.

The role

The Accounts Payable Clerk will work in a close team of 4, reporting into the Financial Controller and will contribute to the smooth running of day to day Finance activities for the department.

Key Duties include:

  • Receive and record invoices from suppliers
  • Obtain receipts or other verification when accounts were paid
  • Process the invoices and attach that information to the relative project or department for job costing and financial statement purposes
  • Match and file invoices with their matching receipts
  • Record and compare invoices received with estimates and/or forecasts
  • Make sure invoices are approved in time to meet established payment cycle
  • Remit payments on invoices as directed by the Financial Controller
  • Work in accordance with the payment process outlined by the Financial Controller

Skills Required:

  • Experience in Accounts Payable and knowledge of Accounts Payable principles
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to comprehend and manage financial records
  • Data entry skills
  • AAT level 2 or willingness to study towards an AAT qualification
