Junior Networking Specialist - Newmarket, Suffolk / Cambridgeshire - up to £30,000 plus benefits and training - 4 on 4 off shift pattern involving nights. The Ashdown Group have been engaged by a hugely successful global IT business, seeking to recruit a bright and talented IT person, with excellent communication skills to join their fast growing business.

Providing support to a global customer base, you will be trained to deal with escalated issues that require an in depth understanding of networking and security support. You will focus on resolving issues with customer networks and systems, particularly focused on Linux and Windows based network devices. You will be expected to deliver the highest resolution rate, prioritising mission critical issues, demonstrating an ability to troubleshoot complex errors.

In addition to resolving IT support issues, you will be involved with testing hardware for faults or defects, as well as resetting and installing network hardware ready for use.

As the business offers support globally to its customers, the business offers 24/7 technical assistance to its clients. This will require you to work 12 hour shifts, with 4 days on days then 4 off, then 4 on nights then 4 off. Due to the global nature of the business and the prestigious client base, excellent communication skills are imperative to the success of this role.

The successful candidate will need to have some demonstrable experience working on an IT helpdesk or in an IT support environment. They will already be a confident communicator, with experience of providing excellent customer service to a varied customer base. An ability to demonstrate a knowledge of networking infrastructure - TCP/IP, VPN, DHCP,DNS, routing and firewalls will also be expected.
