I am currently recruiting for a Communications Officer with explicit public sector experience to join a local authority in West London on a contract basis.


You will be working within a small corporate communications team in delvieriing an effective communications strategy for a major corporate change programme.


Key duties:
  • Build awareness and understanding of the Better Lives programme among key stakeholders to help drive acceptance of the desired change outcomes.
  • To provide dedicated internal and external communications support for the Better Lives transformation programme.
  • Work with senior leaders to ensure that the programme’s vision and objectives are presented in a meaningful way for a range of audiences.
  • To provide expert, internal consultancy on the development and application of marketing techniques to promote the council’s objective of ‘Keeping residents physically and mentally healthy, active & independent’
  • To manage the development of Better Lives related resources and materials for staff, residents and partners.
  • To be responsible for planning and evaluating the effectiveness of the Better Lives marketing and communications campaign activity and make recommendations on future activity.
  • To maximise the use and effectiveness of specific marketing and communications channels including websites and other digital channels to meet the programme’s objectives.


About you:
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns to improve service delivery in a local authority or closely-related environment (KEY)
  • Demonstrable experience of successful use of digital and social media approaches.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful use of research and data analysis, data manipulation and data-base management in a marketing campaign context Demonstrable experience of good project management skills.
  • Use of MS Office Suite or similar software packages
